Planning Your Round
Everything you need to know before you tee off
Book Early
Most public courses in Southwest Florida allow only a 3-day advance booking window. During peak season (January–April), tee times fill fast — especially on weekends. Book as soon as the window opens or look for twilight specials after 2pm for significant discounts.
Greens Fees
Expect to pay $39 to $189+ per round depending on the course and season. Shoulder season (May–October) offers the best rates, sometimes 50% less than peak. Many courses offer early bird specials, twilight rates, and multi-round packages.
Best Season
November through April is peak golf season — ideal temperatures, low humidity, and minimal rain. Summer months are hot and humid with afternoon thunderstorms, but offer the lowest prices and least crowded courses. Early morning tee times are recommended year-round.
Dress Code
Most courses require collared shirts and proper golf attire. Denim is typically not permitted. Many upscale courses have strict dress codes — check ahead. Sun protection is essential: UV index in Southwest Florida is among the highest in the country year-round.
Course Types
The region offers every type of course — links-style seaside layouts, tropical parkland courses through mangroves and palms, championship stadium courses, and executive par-3 layouts. Many resort courses are open to public play, offering world-class conditions without membership.
Golf Hotspots
Naples has the highest concentration of courses. Fort Myers and Cape Coral offer excellent public options. Sarasota features several nationally ranked courses. Bonita Springs and Estero sit in a corridor of outstanding resort courses.
