On Friday, we tied the record high of 85 degrees in Ft. Myers set back in 1982. The heat is staying with us through the weekend with highs in the low to mid 80s, though record heat is unlikely. Expect a nice mix of sunshine and clouds today with high humidity in place.

Though we start out rather dry, stray showers are likely into the afternoon and early evening. Showers will mainly target areas into Collier County, farther south. With easterly flow in place, expect rain to develop inland and work toward the coast.

A more significant cold front will work through the region early next week bringing a relief in humidity and a drop in temperatures back to highs in the 70s.
