GLADES COUNTY, Fla. — A 3-year-old male panther was hit and killed by a car in Glades County, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported Monday.

The remains of the panther were collected on January 9, 2022, on US 27, just over a mile and a half away from the intersection with SR 29.

FWC suspects a car collision is to blame after biologists examined the panther’s remains.

Two panthers have died in 2022 so far, according to FWC records. Both deaths were car related.
