Beach Fishing for Snook… 🙂
September 1 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am
Snook season opens up on September 1st so let’s go catch some of these tasty critters from the beach. 33rd Ave South is that last public beach access before Gordon Pass to the south. High tide is at 4:03 AM and sunrise is 7:07 am so the falling tide could be interesting as bait gets flushed out of the bay with the sun at our backs to light up the snook. I’ll bring: 2 kayaks which puts the northern end of Keewaydin in reach, an ice chest, a surf cart for hauling gear, a large canopy for shade, beach chairs, a cast net and buckets for live bait. And yes, I will leave the kitchen sink at home… 🙂
You will need a saltwater fishing license (which is free for shoreline fishing only or $17 for all saltwater fishing) plus a $10 snook stamp/permit to harvest snook, all are good for 1 year….
All we need now is some hot oil and tartar sauce…. 🙂
