CAPE CORAL, Fla. — After a year off, the Cape Coral Art Festival and Marketplace is back.

On Friday night, Cape Coral Parkway shut down for the weekend so organizers could start setting things up for the artists and marketplace booths.

“We got here at 5 o’clock this morning, went down Cape Coral Parkway to mark the booth spaces,” said Amy Rouskey, President of the Rotary Club.

One artist from Englewood is excited to show off his work, driftwood sailboats, and large paintings.

“We’re brand new to this so it’s exciting,” said Ryan Hayes, Englewood artist. “We will be in booth 32.”

Everyone is expecting a good turn out.

“We are back and we’re ready to make this the best one ever,” said Rouskey. “We’re expecting about 100,000 people or more.”

Cape Coral Parkway won’t reopen until Sunday night, so the police department asks that those who are traveling through the area take an alternate route.
